What to do in Vienna in Spring
Spring in Vienna? It’s pure magic! The city comes alive with events, stunning parks, and all the nature you can soak in. Whether you’re strolling through blooming gardens or hitting up cool outdoor happenings, there’s no better time to experience the best of Vienna.

Burggarten – Where History Meets Chill Vibes
Welcome to Burggarten, Vienna’s dreamy city oasis! Once the private garden of Emperor Franz Joseph, this lush green spot is now the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun, and escape the city buzz. With its elegant landscaping and stunning Palmenhaus, it’s giving total royal garden vibes.

Back in the day, this place was all about emperors and exclusivity. But lucky for us, it’s now open for everyone to enjoy! Grab a picnic, lounge on the grass, or sip a coffee at the Palmenhaus café, housed in a gorgeous Art Nouveau glasshouse. And don’t forget to snap a pic with the famous Mozart statue. Get a little history moment while you chill. Whether you’re here to unwind or get a taste of Vienna’s imperial past, Burggarten is the ultimate city escape in spring and summer!

Volksgarten with a Blend of History
Step into Volksgarten, one of Vienna’s prettiest parks right in the heart of the city! This spot is a favorite for both locals and visitors, offering the perfect place to soak up some sun, take a stroll through stunning rose gardens, and just vibe with nature.
A little fun history tidbit: Volksgarten opened in 1823 and was the very first park in Austria open to the public. Talk about a royal legacy! Back then, it was all about the Habsburgs, today, it’s a chill hangout for everyone.

Need a nightlife option? The famous Volksgarten nightclub is just steps away, and it's a hot spot, especially in the spring and summer months. With its huge open-air area, it’s the perfect mix of fresh air and beats, making it one of the coolest places to party in Vienna. Whether you’re here for a daytime stroll or to dance the night away, Volksgarten has something for everyone!

Kahlenberg - Vienna's Ultimate Viewpoint
If you're looking for the best view of Vienna, Kahlenberg is where it's at! This scenic spot in the Wienerwald (Vienna Woods) is a local fave for soaking up the city skyline on a sunny day. Whether you're up for a hike, a chill outdoor escape, or just a killer photo op, this place delivers.
Once you reach the top, kick back at the restaurant or café and enjoy the view with a coffee or snack.

Pro tip: The best times to visit? Spring and fall, when the colors are next-level gorgeous. Perfect for a day of fresh air, good vibes, and breathtaking sights!

MQ – Museumsquartier
Welcome to MQ, one of Vienna’s hottest outdoor hangout spots! This place is a total magnet for students and young creatives, and it’s easy to see why. Located right at the Museumsquartier subway stop (at the end of the buzzing Mariahilferstraße shopping street), it’s the ultimate mix of art, culture, and good vibes.

The iconic courtyard loungers are perfect for soaking up the sun, catching up with friends, or just people-watching with a coffee in hand. Hungry? Grab some bites from one of the courtyard’s trendy spots. Hit up Lil’ Italy Halle for some seriously good pizza. Feeling artsy? Check out the Mumok (Museum of Modern Art) for some mind-blowing exhibitions. Whether you're here to chill, snack, or get inspired, MQ has you covered!

Biking & Chilling at the Donaukanal | Danube Canal
If you’re down for some fresh air and local vibes, the Donaukanal is where it’s at! Grab a City Bike (Vienna’s super easy bike rental system) and cruise along the canal like a true Viennese. It’s the perfect mix of chill and active. You can pedal past cool street art, soak up the riverside energy, and stop at one of the many bars and restaurants along the way.

Need a pit stop? Hit up Neni am Wasser for some amazing eats or Motto am Fluss for a stylish riverside drink. Perfect for golden hour hangs!

Wiener Prater
The Wiener Prater is Vienna’s ultimate playground, and it’s way more than just an amusement park! Sure, everyone knows it for the iconic Wiener Riesenrad (that giant Ferris wheel with insane city views), but did you know it’s also home to a massive green park? It’s the perfect spot to jog, rent a bike, or just take a dreamy stroll under the trees.
And if all that fun works up an appetite, head straight to Schweizerhaus, one of Vienna’s most legendary restaurants. Picture this: an open-air garden, the crispest beers, smooth Austrian wines, and mouthwatering local dishes. The must-try? Stelze, a perfectly crispy, juicy pork leg that’ll have you dreaming about it long after you leave. Perfect for a sunny spring day!
