Since its launch in 1990, the "Old Viennese Easter Market" on the Freyung has become a beloved springtime tradition, offering a charming alternative to the Christmas market.

The market is famous for its lively music performances, puppet shows, and the iconic "Egg Mountain" – a legendary feature that attracts crowds, along with the giant Easter egg, a popular photo spot. Every year, children can also enjoy exciting adventures with Kasperl, Strolchi & friends, followed by fun activities like egg painting or Palm bouquet making. Puppeteers from the Wiener Handpuppenbühne Herta Kindler, Puppet Inge, and Dolomitenkasperl-Carmen Hron will be there to entertain young visitors.
